By Tim States May 2014 My wife and I, along with our then-three-year-old daughter, traveled to Bemidji, Minnesota. The purpose of the trip was to feel out the area and Bemidji State University so we could better make a decision on whether or not we wanted to spend the next couple of years in northern Minnesota. Of course we already knew that the winters were brutal and the summers were fleeting at best, but we needed to know what the town was like. Upon our arrival, Bemidji reminded me a lot of the town my parents are from in central Wisconsin, so it felt nostalgic.
